Diana Bittner Memorial Lecture – April 7, 2011
Mark your calendars for the Diana Bittner Memorial Lecture taking place on Thursday, April 7, 2011 from 7:45-8:45 a.m. at York Hospital as part of their “Grand Rounds” program. The lecture will be held in the Arthur J. Gladfelter Lecture Hall in the Medical Education Pavilion on the 1st floor of the hospital.
You might be asking, “What are grand rounds?” Ground rounds are a ritual of medical education and inpatient care, consisting of presenting the medical problems and treatment of a particular patient to an audience consisting of doctors, residents, and medical students (Wikipedia). Twice annually, R.O.A.R! sponsors Grand Rounds on the topic of, you guessed it, OVARIAN CANCER!
Timothy McGuinness, D.O. will be our guest speaker at this event. Dr. McGuinness graduated from Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine and later completed his residency at York Hospital. He is board certified in gynecologic oncology and gynecology and obstetrics and brings with him a wealth of knowledge about women’s cancers. In addition, Dr. Amanda Bittner, Board Member, will be speaking at this event about her own experiences when her mother was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and later passed away in 2004.
