R.O.A.R! is excited to announce its 6th annual Clarabeth’s 5K walk/run to benefit ovarian cancer awareness. New to our event this year will be a Kids’ Fun Run. These events will be held on Sunday, September 12, 2010 beginning at 9:00 a.m. at York Suburban High School.
As you may be aware, R.O.A.R! holds this annual fundraising event to further our mission of providing education about and promoting awareness of the disease. We provide educational speakers and programs to our local community as well as the medical community. Through these programs and events such as this walk/run, we continue to promote awareness of the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer, which is considered a “silent disease”. Unfortunately there is no single test which confirms the presence of ovarian cancer, which makes the diagnosis difficult because the signs and symptom of ovarian cancer so closely mirror other health concerns. Until there is a test, awareness is best! All women should know the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer because there is no better advocate for your health than yourself!
Please consider making a tax deductible donation in support of R.O.A.R! and the walk/run by June 1st. By donating $100.00 or more your company’s name will be listed on the registration brochure; $500.00+ and your company’s name will be listed on our registration brochure as well as the T-shirts, which each participant receives on race day. However, a contribution of any amount is appreciated.
